LLM brand mentions: how to track who AI names

An LLM brand mention is a model writing your name into an answer. Tracking it here means reading one run: who was mentioned, in what order, and who was left out.

"Track" on this page does not mean a feed that updates itself. SeenByLLMs has no scheduled run. You press Run, you get the mentions from that pass, and you export them if you need to send them.

What this check is

  • One run you start. There is no scheduled run.

Mentions are not the whole web

A listening tool can tell you that someone on a forum wrote your name. It cannot tell you whether ChatGPT, asked "what should I use instead?", put a competitor on the shortlist and skipped you. Those are different jobs. This one is the shortlist.

How a mention is scored

Plain text matching on your brand, your aliases, and the competitors you typed. Share of voice is your mentions divided by every tracked brand mention in the run. In the Plausible case study that was 7 of 21 tracked mentions, 33%, against 19% for Matomo. The denominator is the brands you listed, so an unlisted tool that the model also named does not enter the percentage. Read the answer when the shortlist looks too friendly.

Cited URLs come back when web search is on. Each source is labelled as your site, a competitor, a review, a forum, or editorial. Web search costs about $0.007 per request on models that do not search natively, billed by OpenRouter. Turn it off and the answers come from the model's memory, with no sources to show.

Questions

What counts as an LLM brand mention?

A mention is your brand name, or an alias you listed, appearing as plain text in the answer. Rank is the order names first appear. A paraphrase that never uses the name does not count.

Is this social brand monitoring?

No. Social tools listen for people talking about you on the web. This check asks models the questions buyers ask and reads who the model names. There is no scheduled run.
